Sacraments
Understanding the Sacraments at St. Chad’s
The sacraments are special moments in the Catholic faith where we receive God’s grace. They are gifts from Jesus, given to help us grow closer to God and live a good, faithful life. At St. Chad’s, children are introduced to the sacraments at key stages in their faith journey.
The Seven Sacraments
There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Church: Baptism, Reconciliation, The Eucharist, Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony. These sacraments help guide us through different stages of life, bringing us closer to God.
At St. Chad’s, children receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in Year 3 and the Sacrament of Confirmation in Year 6. Through these sacraments, our children develop a deeper relationship with God.
